Errata

Any known errata for Brow-Raisers Edition II will be posted on this page.

As mentioned in the book, Tony will reward the first person who discovers an error of spelling, of omission, or of an improper “S” indication in his study lists with a free copy of his book. Please note that this offer applies only to errors found in the study lists and does not apply to those found in the explanatory text.

Known errata as of December 15, 2007:

  1. Page 17 (Under V:) the entry LEVs should be changed to LEV . LEV does not take a back-S.
  2. Page 20 (under Three-Letter Brow-Raisers that don’t take a back hook), “HEH” should be removed from the list entirely, (it is listed between “YAR” and “YEH”). “HEHS” IS acceptable.
  3. Page 47 In the 3rd column of the 3rd group the anagrams should be: MATE, MEAT, META, TAME, TEAM
  4. Page 53 (under triplets for the pattern CVVC), “HAOS” should be removed. (NAOS and TAOS are good, but “HAOS” is NOT acceptable).
  5. Page 60 “CHAO, KOBO, LUMA, and VATU”, should be listed under monetary units that DO take a back-S. CHAOS, KOBOS, LUMAS, and VATUS are all good. Note: “chaos” is a word even though it is not the plural of CHAO.
  6. Page 80 (under 2-Vowel IU-Dumps for K:) “KIRUVs” should be removed from the list. “KIRUV” is NOT acceptable.
  7. Page 89 (under “Tricky Back-S”) BOREAs and CENTAs should be removed. (BOREAS and CENTAS are newly acceptable words. However, BOREA* and CENTA* are NOT acceptable.)
  8. Page 90 In column 2 the back hooks of BUMP should be shown as “H sy”
  9. Page 95 (Under 485 Remaining Brow-Raising Fives) “HAFIS” should be removed from the list. “HAFIS” is NOT acceptable.
  10. Page 98 (under “JAG”) the first of three words should be JAGGED.
  11. Page 185 In the far right column under “7 + 1” “PERJURERs” should replace “RERJURED”
  12. Page 186 In the 3rd column under “QUALM:” “QUALMISH” should replace QUALMISM.
  13. Page 236 “HAIRER” should be removed from the list. “UNHAIRER” is good, however, “HAIRER” can’t properly be considered a root since by itself, it is not good.
  14. Page 237 “UPTAKE” is NOT a verb. The entry “TAKE” under declinable verbs beginning with “UP” should be moved to “Non-Verbs beginning with “UP”.
